With the closure of schools in Ohio for the next three weeks, we understand that this unexpected turn of events is causing some undue stress for families. We were informed yesterday at the same time as the public about the mandated school closing and have been working our way through this as the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities continue to hand down information and requirements that we must abide by. For now, the administrative offices of the County Board will remain open. However, only staff and persons expected for necessary scheduled meetings will be permitted past the front desk. Staff may be contacted by phone or through email. If this changes, you will be notified.
For notifications, I encourage you to sign up for our automated notification texting system if you have not already. This is the quickest method for getting information to you. The County Board also has a Facebook page listed as “Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities” where information will be periodically posted.
We are also offering delivered breakfast and lunch to all students and their siblings beginning next Wednesday. To request meals, you may either complete the online form by following this link http://bit.ly/wcbddmeals.
For families with children who have food allergies, if one child in the family has a known allergy, all children in the family will receive the same meal.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. We will get through this by working together.
