The Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be holding regular meetings. The meetings will be held virtually.
Anyone wishing to participate please contact Brenda Riffe at email@example.com on information for how to participate.
Please take the following survey if you have a child that attends Ewing school and is a preschool student or school age student. The information from this survey will help guide the development of school services for the 2020-2021 school year. Please share your honest answers with us. Thank you for your time.
On March 16, 2020, the preschool and school programs of the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) transitioned from in-class services to virtual learning due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and orders of the Ohio Health Director and Governor. Students nor staff attended Ewing School for the remainder of the school year. Distance learning took place and looked differently for each student. In addition to providing students materials to work on at home, school staff participated in professional development until the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
Effective the week of August 24, 2020, school staff will resume for the 2020-2021 school year. On September 8th, preschool and school-age students will begin on-site school services. A school calendar is included at the end of this document for your convenience. Please note that open houses and field trips have been postponed/canceled until further notice. For the well-being of students, new students are not currently being enrolled in the school-age classes. Preschool classes will have no more than eight students enrolled at a time: six students with IEP’s and two students without disabilities.
If there is a new wave of confirmed cases of the virus or a class has an overwhelming number of students or staff quarantined, it is possible that school may be closed with minimum advance notice and all services will again become virtual. We encourage all staff, students, and families to maintain personal “back-up” plans in the event our circumstances change. We will continue to keep in contact and take advice from the Marietta City Health Department.
