| WASCO Inc. is a nonprofit organization which provides vocational opportunities and habilitation for people who have developmental disabilities. Under the auspices of the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Adult Services Program, WASCO operates a Sheltered Workshop which provides eligible enrollees with wages for assembly, janitorial, lawn care, and other piece rated work. WASCO is staffed by employees of the Washington County Board of DD who are Registered or Certified with the Ohio Department of MR/DD. All staff receive specialized training in providing services to persons who have a developmental disability. At WASCO, individuals may also receive Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and training in daily living skills through the Adult Services Program. Enrollees must be at least 16 years of age and be determined eligible through the OEDI process. The County Board of DD provides transportation to and from the workshop. WASCO, Inc. entered into a lease with the City of Marietta to operate the Marietta City Harbor in March of 1999. This gave WASCO the opportunity to develop more job opportunities for the people with developmental disabilities in a community setting. Through on-site job training and coordination of services provided by the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 12-15 individuals with developmental disabilities were successfully employed in part-time positions during the first season at the Marietta City Harbor. These positions included janitorial work, grounds keeping, restocker of supplies, counter assistant, dock assistant and providing tourist information to the public. The overall experience of leasing the Marietta City Harbor has been very rewarding over the past two seasons. Our community has publicly welcomed us and continually supports our efforts. In our first season, WASCO received an award for their rehabilitative services within the community and was nominated as Marietta's "Hometown Hero". What is the Marietta City Harbor? The Marietta City Harbor is a municipal marina located at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers in Historic Downtown Marietta. The Marietta City Harbor offers boaters seasonal or overnight docking, a fueling dock, potable water, pump out services, (30 amp) electric service, bait, ice and the use of its public restrooms and showers. Our gift shop offers nautical and other gifts, souvenir T-shirts and concessions, which you can enjoy in our scenic picnic area. The Marietta Harbor also rents pontoon boats and bicycles at hourly or daily rates. We invite you to come and experience beautiful downtown Marietta with us! We are open May through

WASCO Inc. began providing mailroom services to Ohio Valley business’s on October 5th, 1981. Our first customer was Forma Scientific and twenty years later we are still working together. We began with daily mailing of their sales leads for persons responding to advertisements in trade publications. Over the years we have provided a variety of mailroom services to many area firms. For example we handle numerous mailings for Marietta Memorial Hospital, City of Marietta and Washington State Community College. Along with bulk mailings we also provide sorting, folding, collating and labeling services for any organization faced with a large mailing. We presently offer fourteen unique patterns. Our product is priced competitively and is fire rated schedule "A" for commercial installations*. Once installed and painted it is indistinguishable from antique or modern tin ceiling products. WASCO Inc. reproduction ceiling tiles are well suited for home installation as well. They can be installed by do-it-yourselfers with a moderate degree of effort. Ceiling panel patterns measure 24" x 24". We can recreate any antique tin pattern by using one good panel as the mold to replicate from. Transition and trim pieces can also be reproduced. We also have the capability to custom match |
